Testing Method
Aerolyse uses fluorometric enzyme testing, including Mycometer-based methods where applicable, to support rapid quantification of fungal and bacterial contamination from selected samples. Mycometer describes its technology as rapid fungi and bacteria quantification and references ISO 16000-22:2025 and ASTM D8527-25 for mould testing.
Training and Method Control
Testing should be carried out by trained personnel using the relevant manufacturer procedure, sample handling steps, equipment checks, controls, and interpretation guidance for the test type used. Reports should identify the sample locations, sample type, date of attendance, relevant observations, and any conditions that may affect interpretation.
What the Report Can Be Used For
Aerolyse reports are prepared to support property records, landlord and tenant communication, remediation planning, post-remediation verification, insurance discussions, housing disrepair records, and Awaab's Law investigation workflows. They are environmental evidence reports, not statutory notices or legal determinations.
Limits of Testing
Results relate only to the sampled locations, material, air sample, and conditions at the time of attendance. A clear result for one sample does not prove that every unsampled area is clear. A positive result should be interpreted alongside site observations, moisture readings, visible defects, ventilation, occupancy patterns, and any relevant repair history.
Rented Housing Duties
Testing must not be used to delay urgent repairs, damp and mould investigation, safeguarding, or medical advice where occupants may be at risk. UK government damp and mould guidance for rented housing providers highlights health risks and actions for social and private landlords to address and reduce damp and mould in homes.
Health, Medical, and Legal Boundaries
Aerolyse does not provide medical diagnosis, clinical advice, structural engineering advice, legal advice, or statutory enforcement decisions. If an occupant is unwell or vulnerable, they should seek medical advice. Landlords, agents, insurers, and legal representatives should use the report alongside their own duties and professional advice.
Data and Photographs
Site photographs, notes, addresses, contact details, and report evidence may contain personal data. Aerolyse should collect only what is needed for the survey and report, store it securely, and handle requests under the Privacy Notice and User Rights pages.
Trademark and Manufacturer Clarity
Mycometer names and product terms are used descriptively for the testing method and equipment where relevant. Aerolyse should not imply that it manufactures Mycometer products or that Mycometer endorses every individual Aerolyse report unless a written authorisation says so.
