Our mould testing uses fluorometric analysis to measure markers associated with mould contamination in a sample. It does not identify mould species. The purpose of the analysis is to provide measurable evidence of mould contamination at the sampled location.
Airborne samples are collected by Aerolyse during a site visit. Only suitable surface samples can be collected by customers or contractors using postal sampling materials. Findings relate to the sample and location tested.
Research and method referencesAerolyse provides nationwide postal testing for suitable surface mould and bacterial samples. We send appropriate sampling materials and instructions, analyse your returned samples and provide the test results. Air sampling requires an Aerolyse site visit.

Property attendance is available subject to location and scheduling. Contact Aerolyse with your postcode to arrange a visit. The call-out fee includes fuel, travel and all attendance costs. Sample analysis and detailed written reports are charged separately.
Aerolyse recommends the sampling plan and confirms attendance, sample and any detailed-report charges.
Aerolyse attends the property, reviews the agreed locations and prepares the equipment.
Aerolyse collects air samples on site and any surface samples included in the instruction.

A separately commissioned report adds professional interpretation and context for an additional charge.
No extra fee is required to receive your sample result. Detailed written interpretive reports are available separately for an additional charge. A sample result is not a whole-property survey.
An additional paid service: priced separately. Its scope depends on the information available and any agreed site attendance. A sample alone does not establish the exact cause of mould.

Swab collection takes less than 10 minutes on a typical job.
Surface sample analysis typically takes under an hour. Analysis time excludes postage.
Each air sample typically takes approximately 40 minutes to collect on site. Multiple samples can be taken in one visit; extra locations and setup make the appointment longer.
Following collection, each airborne mould sample typically requires approximately 1 hour 30 minutes for analysis. This is analysis time per sample, not the full appointment duration or a guaranteed turnaround.
Sampling choices, collection, property conditions and the information supplied affect interpretation. No single sample describes the whole property. Tests do not establish medical safety, legal compliance or the absence of every contaminant.
